Acting on behalf of a private client, national commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has secured new tenants for vacant retail space on the High Street in Brentwood.
61 High Street has been let to Heart of Gold Jewellers, with the deal following in the wake of 59 High Street being let to Whitehouse, an upmarket clothing retailer, towards the end of last year.
Paul Bullock, Associate Director in LSH’s Essex Agency team, commented: “Both Whitehouse and Heart of Gold were relocating from other parts of the High Street due to expansion, and were looking for more prominent positions opposite the town centre shopping precinct. Despite the widespread retail doom and gloom reported in the media, there is still retail demand and it is encouraging to see two occupiers expanding and upgrading their premises in order to capitalise on shopper numbers in the town.”
Paul added: “We are seeing strong levels of interest from retailers with similar growth aspirations, which is promising news for the market. We are currently marketing the former ground floor post office at 30 High Street, totalling 1,970 sq ft, which has retail planning consent. Furthermore, we are seeing a lot of enquiries in 9-11 High Street – the former Clement Joscelyne store – which spans five floors to provide 11,338 sq ft of sales, office and storage space.”
