This spring (2020) sees a bespoke kitchen design service in the Cambridgeshire market town of St Ives take on additional premises in the town’s main commercial trading location, confirms the Huntingdon office of Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons).
The showroom studio of Nicholas Hythe Kitchen Design Studio will remain at The Quadrant in the town’s retail centre ‐ where it has been trading for eight years ‐ but now the company’s administrative, management and warehouse functions will now be located at 4 Burrel Road on the Somersham Road Industrial Estate, St Ives.
Barker Storey Matthews was the sole agent acting on behalf of the landlord in the letting the 3,495 sq ft (323.82 sq m) warehouse with ground and first floor office premise, plus mezzanine level, on a new lease.
Nicholas Hythe Kitchen Design Studio offers a complete kitchen service ‐ from design to project management and installation ‐ and has its main customer base within a 15 mile radius of St Ives.
According to Director and Co‐owner, Ross Halliday, the impetus behind the move to 4 Burrel Road was the need to consolidate its office and workshop functions in larger warehouse premises, following a period of rapid business growth.
He explained, “The growth of the business in the past few years meant we were reaching capacity in terms of the available space in our town centre showroom.
“At Burrel Road we’ve got ground and first floor office space in addition to much larger warehouse premises.”
Richard Adam, of Barker Storey Matthews, who spearheaded the letting of the premises, added, “While the A14 upgrade has, undoubtedly, raised the profile of St Ives’ main commercial trading location to new, out of area occupiers, it’s gratifying that locally based businesses are in a position to benefit from the area’s good quality industrial property too as it comes forward for letting.”
