Four new tenants have agreed deals with Carnell Management Services for units at the recently completed £6.6m Nexus Business Park in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
New start up company Battery Dynamics, which designs and provides bespoke energy solutions, has leased a 3,000 sq ft unit on a six year lease. The letting marks the company’s first permanent base within the South Yorkshire region since its inception in September 2019.
Property maintenance specialist Mila Maintenance and Installation is moving from phase one of Capitol Park onto Nexus in an expansion plan to double the size of its South Yorkshire base. The company, part of Heywood Williams Components Group Ltd, is centralising its nationwide functions to make the 7,500 sq ft Nexus unit a centre of excellence.
World of Windows (Yorkshire), which provides double glazing and glass and was established in 2007, has relocated its office and manufacturing facility to Nexus from Barnsley’s Claycliffe Business Park following expansion, taking a 4,000 sq ft unit, on a 10 year deal while Total Safety take Unit 12.
The 15-unit Nexus project at Capitol Park was speculatively built for B1, B2 and B8 use by developer and long term investor Carnell Management Services (CMS) and part funded with a £2.20m loan from the Sheffield City Region JESSICA Fund.
Jordan Garland, director at Battery Dynamics, said: “Opening a base at Nexus has given Battery Dynamics the space, facilities and accessibility that we need. We have a large storage space as well as access to a growing national customer base. The quality of build of the units is superb. We hope to double our four-strong staff this year.”
Tristan Cooke, managing director at Mila Maintenance, added: “The setting up of our new centre of excellence at Nexus means we have boosted staff numbers to 40 and hope to add further customer service staff in the short to medium term.”
