Commercial property consultancy Innes England is celebrating after being recognised as the most active agent in three key sectors of the 2019 East Midlands commercial property market.
The firm, which has offices in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, topped the office, industrial and investment categories in the latest Estates Gazette deals competition.
Matthew Hannah, managing director at Innes England, said: “We’re thrilled to be recognised again for completing the most deals in three sectors in our region. It is testament to the hard work being put in by the team year-round to deliver on our clients’ objectives, either on the disposal or acquisition of property.”
Organised by the property industry’s leading trade publication Estates Gazette, The EG deals competition is designed to establish the agents completing the largest volume of deals throughout the year and has been pitting firms against one another since 2001.
Throughout the East Midlands, Innes England completed more than a deal a day across the industrial, office, retail, leisure and investment sectors for its clients, ranging from a 122 sq ft retail unit to a development site of over 40 acres.
Highlights for 2019 included the largest out-of-town office letting in Nottingham last year to GoDaddy. The website domain giant relocated their entire Nottingham operation from Castle Boulevard in the city centre to 26,775 sq ft of newly-refurbished accommodation at Waterfront House, part of Chancerygate’s Beeston Business Park.
In Derby, Innes England brokered the largest office deal in the city after French engineering firm Alten took on 3 Pride Place. The global leader in engineering and technology consulting has seen exponential growth of 80 per cent in the last five years and required more space to serve contracts with Rolls Royce and Bombardier.
One of the most significant transactions completed in Leicester was the disposal of 100,000 sq ft on the Leicester Distribution Park, a BlackRock scheme, to crane manufacturer JLG Power Towers.
Innes England also completed a range of investment deals, including the Heathcote Buildings in Nottingham’s Lace Market. The mixed-use scheme of six retail units and over 15,000 sq ft of office space was sold last year on behalf of a London-based investment management firm.
Peter Doleman, director and head of agency of Innes England, added: “We are delighted to have won these awards, having worked hard to secure a great deal of high-profile work across the East Midlands and strengthen the team with recent appointments. I firmly believe that with the staff we have and a strong local market knowledge that we are well set to continue to provide clients with the results they expect.”
