Fit-out contractors Workspace Design & Build (D&B) has promoted Shaun Smith and Richard Barsby to the position of Associate Director, taking its directorship to 5.
Shaun and Richard have both become an integral part of the Workspace family and this promotion follows a significant period of growth for the Midlands office of the Manchester headquartered company.
Mike Puttick will also be transferring across to the Midlands team to support the growth of the company and help deliver major projects in the region alongside key team member Daniel Davies.
Mike joined Workspace in November 2017 as a Contracts Manager. Stepping into the role of Associate Director in 2019, Mike focuses on managing and overseeing all current projects from an operations standpoint.
Shaun previously worked for the MoD as a Project Manager on civil and refurbishment schemes across multiple sectors and disciplines, including hospitals, residential, leisure, retail and workshops.
More recently Shaun was responsible for a self-sufficient business unit at a well-established interior plc company, creating sales, bidding, designing and delivering a wide variety of schemes for clients including JLR, Aviva, Adecco, NetApp, HTC, NEC and Coventry Building Society.

“Since launching the office last year, the team has secured some amazing business opportunities. We are working on a number of exciting projects and we are confident that this will continue, considering our current rate of growth in both Manchester and Birmingham.”

Richard has 30 years of experience working alongside main contractors and also as lead building services manager. His previous clients include, JLR, Loughborough university, Ford and University College London.
Richard said: “I am excited to take on a more senior role, which will allow me to continue to directly contribute to the businesses successive growth and prosperity.”
The Midlands office has experienced significant growth and success since its launch last year and 2020 is already shaping up to be another big year for the company.
