Construction of a 78,458 sq ft industrial unit speculatively developed in Rotherham has reached practical completion.
Main contractor MCS Group has delivered the high quality unit, known as Atomic, at 31 East, Todwick Road, Dinnington, on behalf of Trebor/Hillwood.
The building, which is suitable for logistics/distribution or manufacturing uses and constructed to sustainable standards, is located on a prominent site, less than 2.5 miles from Junction 31 of the M1.
Bob Tattrie, managing partner of Trebor Developments, said: “It’s fantastic to see Atomic reach practical completion. The team at MCS Group and everyone else involved have done a tremendous job to deliver a very high quality industrial unit which is now ready for occupation, despite the rain encountered over the last few months.
“The development provides quality industrial accommodation to meet local and regional occupier needs and represents part of our national development pipeline of similar speculative, industrial, developments, delivering in the order of three million square feet over the next 18 months.”
Tim Perkins, group development director at Midlands-based MCS Group, said: “It’s always a pleasure to work alongside Bob and the team at Trebor Developments. Together, we have delivered an excellent industrial/logistics unit in a first-class location, which will help to address the needs of the regional market.
“We made very good progress on the site, despite some tricky weather conditions and reached practical completion before the end of the year, as scheduled.”
Trebor/Hillwood is advised by agents CBRE (Leeds), CPP (Sheffield) and Knight Frank (Sheffield).
MCS Group has enjoyed a period of sustained growth in delivering projects across the motor retail, industrial, storage and distribution sectors and has set itself a target of increasing profits and doubling current turnover to around £200 million by 2020. They are currently delivering two other projects for Trebor and Hillwood.
