Ambitious businesses in Hampshire are being offered expert help to ‘take them to the next level’ from this spring.
Hampshire Chamber of Commerce is holding six workshops aimed at entrepreneurs, start-ups and small and medium-sized businesses keen to achieve high growth quickly.
The business membership organisation has teamed up with Warsash, Southampton-based provider Skills for Business Training Ltd to run the workshops, three times during 2020.
They cover essential activities such as leadership, strategic planning, change management, process mapping and how to achieve effective market positioning.
Hampshire Chamber’s Chief Executive and Executive Chair Ross McNally said: “Many business fuel their early trajectories with a combination of entrepreneurial flair and flexibility.
“As they look to grow however, it quickly becomes necessary to strike the right balance between keeping and fostering those undoubted strengths and the need to focus on strategy and corporate processes as well.
“If you are a business in that position and are keen to grow to the next level, then these workshops are ideal for you.”
The training will be led by Steve Jones, founder of Skills for Business and a former senior manager at FTSE-listed health club success story Fitness First plc.
Steve said: “The workshops show you how to create the right mindset to achieve goals, win and grow profitable customers, inspire your team and navigate your high-growth journey.
“This is all about encouraging fast-growing entrepreneurial businesses, helping them to upskill, motivate their teams and unleash their potential.”
One of the Hampshire businesses that has already received Skills for Business training to achieve high growth is Ringwood law firm Ellis Jones.
Managing Partner Nigel Smith said: “We have found the training input we received from Steve hugely valuable. It is both practical and scalable.
“We have even built some of the tools and techniques into our team appraisal process, which has been recognised and praised by the legal practice accrediting body Lexcel.”
The six workshops will be run three times this year at Hampshire Chamber’s Wates House head office in Fareham. The first delivery is over three days from March into April. The workshops can be booked individually or if five are booked together, the sixth is free.
