Global medical technology company, Arthrex, is relocating its UK base to IM Properties (IMP)’s Blythe Valley Park (BVP) scheme near Solihull following unprecedented growth and demand for its products.
Currently based in Sheffield, the new 17,100 sq ft offices will be the second location for Arthrex in the UK and will be the new British HQ for the privately-owned family business who employ 130 people across the country. The central location of BVP is key to the business who will see Health Care Professionals visiting from all over the UK.
The building is the fourth purpose-built offices to be created at BVP for occupiers keen to be on the M42 and on a scheme with a strong wellbeing agenda. Similar sized buildings have been taken up by the Rybrook Group, Prologis and Jerroms.
Benniman Group has been appointed by IMP to construct the building and work commenced in January with the building expected to be complete prior to Christmas 2020.
IMP’s development director, Lewis Payne said: “Our focus on creating city-centre standard offices with a strong supporting wellbeing agenda has enabled us to attract many top-class occupiers to BVP. This deal leaves us with just 7 acres still to be developed.
“We’re delighted to be working with Arthrex on this new facility, who are yet another high technology business that recognises the benefits of BVP. We’ve worked collaboratively with them to take this building from concept to starting on site in less than 12 months, which is testament to the quality of the team we have working on the project.”
The new offices will include cycle storage and shower facilities and landscaped external breakout areas including a roof terrace. Arthrex will also benefit from an on-site Virgin Active Health Club, Java Lounge independent coffee house, Busy Bees Nursery and regular outdoor business community events.
Paul Bosworth from Arthrex added: “Blythe Valley Park provides the perfect location for the future of our business balancing a best in class working environment, accessibility for our clients and quality of life for our employees. The environment will improve productivity for our business and will assist in our ability to retain and attract talent.”
Acting on behalf of Arthrex, David Felman of GL Hearn said “This acquisition provides the ideal platform for Arthrex’s plans to deliver a state of the art, flagship UK Headquarters. We were delighted to support our client in acquiring this unique new office building; a decision which we are sure will be integral to their long-term success. We look forward to seeing the space come to life as work commences this year.”
Located on junction 4 of the M42, connectivity has also played a major role in occupiers decision making process with train stations and Birmingham Airport nearby. This has been enhanced by a new bus service to connect the 750 homes being created at BVP, to new surrounding neighbourhoods.
CBRE and Savills are acting as joint agents on the site; Arthrex were represented by GL Hearn.
