One of the UK’s leading fishing tackle companies has come virtually full circle, setting up its new UK headquarters just a short distance from where it started out more than a quarter of a century ago with the help of property agents John Truslove.
Maver UK is the British division of a historic Italian family firm that can trace its roots back more than a century. It sponsors some of the UK’s leading anglers, teams and competitions and has become a byword for providing “top quality products at sensible prices”.
The company has been based in Redditch from its start in the UK, but decided its premises in Merse Road, on the North Moons Moat Estate, were too large and inefficient for its needs.
Maver UK turned to Ian Parker at John Truslove, which has handled both the sale of the old premises and the move to 59 and 75 Heming Road to help them find the ideal solution.
Toni Nash, General Manager at Maver UK, explained: “We sell to high street retailers, rather than direct to the public, and we needed somewhere better suited to our needs running our UK operation and holding the right amount of stock to keep our customers supplied efficiently.
“We had fairly specific needs, including a desire to stay in Redditch. We have around 20 staff and needed to be where they could still get to work easily.
“The site in Heming Road was just right for us. Ian Parker and the team at Truslove were efficient and really helpful throughout the whole process. I can recommend them wholeheartedly.
“We’ve come almost full circle, as Heming Road was where our first offices were based more than a quarter century ago,” Toni added.
Maver UK has taken two units on the Washford Industrial Estate, one of 6,825 sq ft and the other 1,670 sq ft, on five year leases.
Maver were advised by Robbie Mackenzie of property agents Collingwood Rigby.
Ian Parker, joint managing director of John Truslove, said: “We are delighted to have helped Maver UK find the right premises in the right location. It is an excellent deal for both Maver and the landlord.
“It is important even for long-established companies like Maver UK to continually re-assess their property needs to ensure they are in the right premises.
“This is a company with long roots in Redditch and its decision making on premises took large account of its desire to retain its faithful workforce. We are proud that our unrivalled knowledge of the local commercial property scene allowed us to play a part in their finding a suitable new home.”
