The shareholders in the Bristol & Avon Transport & Recycling Ltd., a subsidiary of B & A Group have acquired 6.5 acres at Delta Properties’ recently released extension of Central Park, Bristol, at Severn Road in Avonmouth.
The deal marks the first deal in 2020 and the fifth sale in this current phase of Delta Properties’ developments in Bristol, following outstanding success in completing Central Park with occupiers including The Range, Amazon, DHL and Lidl.
The first phase of the Severn Road development, comprising just under 50 acres, benefits from the same extant planning consents which are in place at Central Park. The site has full planning consent already granted for open storage or new build warehouse and distribution, meaning no further planning permission is required prior to commencing development.
B & A Group has purchased a plot of 6.5 acres for strategic purposes.
Kevin Berkely, Group director, said: “We completed this deal with Delta Properties within six weeks, thanks to the efficient way Delta operates. It is always a pleasure working with them. This acquisition of land benefitting from the unique planning consent, will open up possibilities for strategic expansion in line with B & A Group’s plans for growth with remarkable ease. We are proud to say that this takes our total landholding in the Severnside area to over 40 acres.
“The latest acquisition enhances our commercial property portfolio in the locality. It sits next to Balla Park, our 12 acre industrial estate, neighbouring B & A Group’s headquarters & aggregate recycling facility. We can offer excellent leasehold opportunities with flexible terms to suitable occupiers for open storage and bespoke design and build development for plots ranging from 0.5 acres to 10 acres. It is an exciting time for us, and we are looking forward to working hard on our commercial property side of the business and welcoming new businesses to the area”.
Michael Shebson, of Delta Properties said: “We are delighted to have concluded this deal with Bristol & Avon Group as our latest occupier for this phase of development. We have known them for years and have an excellent working relationship with them. They join Dawsongroup Plc & Wren Kitchens who signed with us over the summer of 2019 and Wales & West Truck & Bus and CSG Group who signed with us at the end of 2019.
“All infrastructure is completed. We are in discussions with several other occupiers for the remaining 12 acres left in this phase of development and interest remains strong; occupiers are attracted by the ‘oven ready’ status of our landholdings, with infrastructure already provided, and the huge benefits the existing planning consent bring. We expect to complete this phase of our development in H1 2020 and will be moving on to further phases very soon”.
Neither party was represented.
Plots ranging from 2 – 10 acres are still available for freehold purchase at Central Park, Severn Road through the Bristol offices of agents Avison Young and Knight Frank.
