HEB Chartered Surveyors has let a property to the reigning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world champion to start a new martial arts academy.
The property at 248 Radford Boulevard in Nottingham is located just off Alfreton Road and comprises open plan first floor accommodation which is ideal for world champion Victor Estima’s first independent Jiu Jitsu School.
Will Torr acted for a private landlord to negotiate the deal and secured permission for the change of use of the property.
Will said: “From our initial conversations, I knew that Radford Boulevard had the potential to provide Victor with the ideal Jiu Jitsu academy. The internal layout and the on-site parking plus the surrounding exceptional transport links created a great opportunity for a specialised martial arts academy.”
The new academy is part of the Garcie Barra worldwide network of schools with a long history of success in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition.
Victor Estima, who is the head of Gracie Barra in Europe, said: ““Will at heb understood our needs from the start, finding us a great location on Radford Boulevard, and was a real help in navigating all the paperwork. I’m really excited about the venture! The academy will serve as the Gracie Barra UK headquarters, and will be a great addition to the community in Nottingham.
“I can’t thank Will and the staff at heb enough. They’ve been fantastic throughout the whole process,” Victor added.
Gracie Barra Nottingham has officially opened its doors and a full timetable of adults’ and children’s classes begins on Monday 16 July.
Gracie Barra has a ‘Jiu Jitsu for Everyone’ philosophy which involves the entire family, emphasising the wider benefits of the martial art for fitness, self-defence and personal development.
