As Team Leicester nears the final stages of preparation before heading out to MIPIM, it is the last chance to sign up to sponsor. The partnership, which is made up of business, property and construction professionals, is looking very healthy. Already 22 organisations – headlined by Leicester-based property developer, Bradgate Estates – are on board.
Five sponsors have signed up in the past couple of weeks, including BEC Consultants; Farrow Walsh – Structural and Civil Engineers, Loughborough University; Financiers, Maslow Capital; and the McLaren Group.
MIPIM (Le Marché International des Professionnels de l’Immobilier) is a global property event held annually in Cannes, France, that sees real estate professionals from all over the world gather for four days of networking, events, conferences and exhibitions.
With MIPIM happening from 10-13 March, any businesses interested in becoming part of Team Leicester need to sign up soon to secure their places at the Team Leicester events and ensure they are included on all the collateral.
Team Leicester is led by Rob McGuinn, director of MDA Consulting, Richard Osborn, regional director at Excello Law, Mukesh Patel, managing partner at Freeths and Mark Oakley, Director of Inward Investment and Place Marketing at Leicester City Council.
Rob, who is the chair of the partnership, said, “We already have a really strong partnership of great businesses on board – and a very coherent message to go to with it. ‘Leicester – the Healthy Choice’ is synonymous with the region, the emerging Local Industrial Strategy and the property and development opportunities across Leicester and surrounding county.
“We made our stamp on MIPIM in 2019, delivering an outstanding event which set the bar very high. This year promises to be just as good, if not better.
“With our management agency, Associate Events, we will be helping all Team Leicester sponsors to maximise their time at MIPIM and I am confident they will return feeling they have achieved fantastic value for money.”

Haroon Shaikh is Managing Director of property development company, Obstrat, which has a portfolio of residential, commercial, retail and leisure projects in Leicester.
It is the second year Obstrat has sponsored Team Leicester.
Haroon said, “Last year was the first time we went to MIPIM as part of Team Leicester. When we got there, whatever our expectations were, they were multiplied twenty-fold.
