Leading workspace developer, Network Space, has submitted a planning application to Stoke-on-Trent City Council to bring forward the second phase of its award-winning Tunstall Arrow development in the north of the city.
The application, which follows on from a community and stakeholder relations engagement held in the autumn of 2019, seeks permission to develop out phase two on a 7.3-acre site on the northern side of the A527James Brindley Way in the Sandyford and Goldenhill area of Stoke.
The development will deliver a total of 109,250 sq ft of high-specification business premises for industrial or distribution uses, bring new jobs to the area and build on the success of phase one which is fully let and operational.
The plans, which consist of five detached and self-contained units ranging in size from 13,000 sq ft to 30,000 sq ft, will bring the under-utilised brownfield land back into meaningful employment use, and will transform the site which requires significant remediation work as it is affected by historic coal workings and disused mine shafts.
Simon Peters, development director at Network Space, said: “The submission of our application for phase two marks another key stage in the development of the Tunstall Arrow Enterprise Zone site. Our principal objective is to provide the type of high-quality modern employment space that businesses are looking for and build on the success of phase one.
“There is strong demand in the local and regional industrial property markets and we’re confident that we’ll attract occupiers to Tunstall Arrow – drawn here by the excellent transport links and the high standard of the units. Phase two will bring more businesses and further quality job opportunities to the north of the city. We look forward to working with our partners at the City Council in the coming weeks as our application is processed.”
Phase one of Tunstall Arrow was completed and fully let early in 2019. Its five units are now supporting hundreds of jobs with the 130,000 sq ft development being home to a clutch of international businesses including: Dutch tool and equipment hire company Boels Rental, German global delivery service DHL Express, Australian fleet management company SG Fleet Group, Italian generator & equipment hire specialist Pramac-Generac and German balustrade manufacturer Q-railing.
Tunstall Arrow phase one was developed with support from Stoke-on-Trent City Council, and grant funding from the Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone Development Fund. The Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone is one of 48 across the UK and has the potential to create up to 6,700 jobs. The zone covers 3.3 million sq ft of commercial space across six key sites along the A500 corridor.
Network Space has been providing industrial workspace and warehousing for over 35 years and intends to deliver 2.5 million sq ft of industrial property over the next five years.
Tunstall Arrow was recently recognised at the Newsco Insider West Midlands Property Awards 2019 as the region’s Regeneration Project of the Year.
