Three food and beverage operators will be opening new branches in Manchester early this year.
Global property services firm, Cushman & Wakefield has agreed deals to new UK entrant, Café Delhi Heights as well as Doner Haus and Archie’s.
Casual dining group, Café Delhi Heights, will be opening a 6,158 sq ft 2-storey unit at The Corn Exchange in the spring. The Delhi-based business has several sites across India, but its Manchester branch will be its first international expansion. The restaurant serves comfort food from around the world from native classics including Kerala tawa fish fry and Chennai chicken 65 to pizza, burgers and noodles.
Also opening at The Corn Exchange early this year will be Doner Haus. Situated in the vacant former Byron Hamburgers site, the 4,781 sq ft unit spread over two floors will include seating for 180 and serve Berlin-style quality kebabs, Turkish pidas as well as currywurst, falafel, halloumi and vegan schnitzels.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Retail team together joint agent, Metis, agreed both deals on behalf of the landlord at The Corn Exchange, Aviva Investors.
In addition, fast food chain, Archie’s, which specialises in ‘Burgers – Shakes – Waffles’, will be opening a branch at intu Trafford Centre. The chain, which already has three branches across the city, will be opening a 6,742 sq ft unit on the upper level of The Orient.
George Lowe, Surveyor in Cushman & Wakefield’s Retail agency team said: “Manchester’s reputation as a F&B hotspot continued to strengthen in 2019, supported by a number of high-profile deals. Lettings across the region’s prime schemes, such as intu Trafford Centre and The Corn Exchange, were complimented by the continued growth of more niche F&B locations, such as Ancoats and The Northern Quarter.”
