Salloway Property Consultants have brokered a deal for the first in a specialist alloy wheel refurbishment franchise to come to Derby.
Its owners plan for Wheel Surgery to be rolled out across the Midlands and then the UK.
The first outlet will be up and running over the next fortnight and will create between six and ten jobs at Centurion Way, off Alfreton Road in a building which has been initially leased for five years.
Gavin Dickson will be heading up the business.
He said: “The market in alloy wheel refurbishment has really taken off in the last 12 to 18 months.
“Our cutting-edge operation which involves an automated process and pre-heated ovens will be here for dealerships, insurance companies and the public.
“We will be able to fully refurb wheels so that they come out like new.
“We will have the ISO 90001 certificate which will be a hallmark of our quality and we are in advanced talks with insurers who know that we will get repairs right first time.
“Our idea to get the Derby plant up and running, open more in a defined radius from here and then spread north and south.
“It is becoming more affordable for people to have nice cars and nice wheels and that is why this is a growing market.
Gavin praised the work of Salloway Property Consultants in finding the perfect base for the first Wheel Surgery.
He said: “They have been great all the way through. They got us over the line and I would recommend them.
Salloway surveyor Hugo Beresford: “It is great to have worked with Wheel Surgery. This is an established industrial pitch. Good access to the road network – straight on to A38 and great run through to Pride Park”.
“We are sure they will be a great success.”
