A young and ambitious construction company is set for new growth after completing work on its own new home, secured with the aid of property agents John Truslove.
Tricas Construction Ltd has purchased the freehold of its own 2,284 sq ft premises at 3 Buntsford Park Road, Bromsgrove for £291,250.
Ian Parker, joint managing director of John Truslove, said: “This is a good deal for both Tricas and the vendors. It went to best and final offers and resulted in one of the highest rates per square foot seen in North Worcestershire.”
Now Tricas Construction is set to move into the remodelled factory unit in Bromsgrove after a major refurbishment project that saw it turn the first floor into office accommodation to house both Tricas Construction and its sister flooring business Tricas Flooring.
Business owner Chris Gibbs is moving his 13-strong team from rented offices on Buntsford Park Road, across the street into the new base. He expects the growing business to be taking on more staff before the end of the year.
“We could see the new building from our window and when we saw the property was up for sale we got in touch with the agents, John Truslove.
“Ian Parker from John Truslove had already helped us find our rented property when we had outgrown the serviced offices where we started out. He’s been great throughout the process.”
Chris and his two fellow directors all come from a background working with major contractors, but felt there was a niche for a firm handling smaller housing developments for private developer clients and housing associations.
“We currently build developments of 5 to 50 homes including apartments etc,” said Chris. “We started out two and a half years ago in serviced offices and have grown from there. We use a great group of sub-contractors to supplement our core team, and business is going well.
“We aim to provide the kind of reassurance and quality that a big contractor or housebuilder can offer, but with even more customer focus and attention to detail – for instance, working with clients from a very early stage when a development is still being conceived.
“Our biggest project at present is a development of 22 houses, but we will start work on another development of 39 homes later this year.
“We have carried out the work on our new offices as well. It was a factory unit with a mezzanine floor, so we have kept the ground floor for storage of carpet and vinyl for our soft flooring business and converted the mezzanine into offices for both sides of the business.”
From its new base, Tricas will continue to operate across the Midlands.
Ian Parker, joint managing director at John Truslove, said: “It is always satisfying to see a young company thrive in the premises we help provide for them, and I believe Tricas will go from strength to strength.
MFG Solicitors acted for the vendor, and Trethowans advised Tricas.
