Cushman & Wakefield has acted for GenesisCare on the acquisition and subsequent sale and leaseback of two cancer treatment centres to a listed property REIT for an undisclosed sum.
Located on Aztec West Business Park, Bristol, and Essex Healthcare Park, Great Baddow, Chelmsford, the state-of-the-art specialist cancer care centres – and former Spire Healthcare centres – join GenesisCare’s international network of world-leading radiotherapy centres.
James McArthur, General Manager UK GenesisCare, said: “GenesisCare launched its first pioneering UK radiation therapy cancer treatment centre in 2009. Today we operate from 14 centres across the UK with Bristol and Chelmsford our latest additions. Throughout our centres our talented specialists provide fast access to ground-breaking treatments, using the very latest equipment ensuring that our patients get the best quality care possible. We are delighted with the outcome and quality of service provided to us by Cushman & Wakefield’s healthcare team.”
James Hanson, Partner and Head of Healthcare Transactions, Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Like most people in the UK, I have personal experience of losing a relative to cancer, and can fully appreciate the importance placed on access to quality cancer treatment facilities and care. We are proud to have advised GenesisCare on this deal and I look forward to further supporting them with their ambitious growth plans here in the UK and globally.”
