A former Vospers motor dealership in Exeter has been sold for £1.7 million in a deal brokered by global real estate advisor Colliers International.
Last year Vospers moved to new purpose-built premises at Matford Green Business Park.
Now its former Fiat and Alfa Romeo showroom at nearby Hennock Road, which comprises two showrooms totalling 12, 246 sq ft with 128 parking spaces, has been acquired by Ability Matters Group.
The business, a leading provider of specialist prosthetic, orthotic and mobility services, will relocate from the Exeter Mobility Centre on Wonford Road to its new facility next year.
The building occupies a prominent position on Matford Trading Estate and is held on a 125-year lease from Exeter City Council.
Will Jolly, Consultant within the Automotive and Roadside Department at Colliers International in the South West and Wales, acted on behalf of Vospers Motor Group in agreeing the deal, jointly with Noel Stevens of Alder King.
“This deal highlights the ongoing strength of demand for freehold and long leasehold property in Exeter,” says Will Jolly.
“More specifically it also highlights the ongoing demand for high profile properties of this nature to the automotive market and other alternative uses. In fact we are also working for Vospers, jointly with Alder King and Listers respectively, in relation to Honiton Road, Exeter, and a 16-acre development site in Plymouth.”
