Vail Williams has appointed asset management specialist Emma Guy as partner to support its growing Surrey presence.
Following a short career break to have children, Emma, who is an MRICS qualified surveyor, has joined property consultancy, Vail Williams LLP, to support the firm’s growing asset management team which has gone from a team of 12 to 26 people in the last 10 years.
With 20 years’ experience in all aspects of asset management, leasing and valuation across all property sectors, Emma brings with her a wealth of experience which will strengthen the property consultancy’s asset management offering from Surrey.
Previously a director of asset management for the £6 billion-pound Cadogan Estate in central London, she managed a portfolio of residential, retail and commercial property in Chelsea and Knightsbridge and was responsible for increasing annual rental income across the estate by 58% to £142 million.
Prior to that Emma worked for the Grosvenor Estate as director of lease management where she led a team of 15 people to manage the estate’s retail, office and residential asset management work including rent reviews, lease renewals and lease restructures.
Emma will work with Vail Williams’ lead partner for asset management, Alexandra Finlayson, who commented: “The work that Emma did to transform Cadegon Estate’s King’s Road portfolio speaks for itself and we are delighted to welcome her to our team as we seek to grow our asset management offering, in line with our firmwide strategic growth ambitions.”
Speaking of her appointment, Emma said: “This is a firm I’ve known since childhood, having seen their billboards on the Eastern Road in Portsmouth where I grew up. I’m excited to now be joining the firm as it seeks to grow its asset management clientele where I will bring my experience representing two large landlords to bear for their clients in Surrey and beyond.”
Emma started on 26 November, one year on from the firm’s move from Guildford to Woking.
During that time, the firm’s presence in Woking has grown to over 16 people as their work with businesses, local authorities, and investors and developers across Surrey has increased.
Geoff Fallon, Vail Williams’ regional managing partner for Surrey, concluded: “Emma joins at a compelling time as we continue to invest in our team and our service offering. The addition of her property asset management expertise will create a truly multi-disciplinary property advisory service from our Woking base.”
