The latest tenant at Peregine Court, Eagle Business Park in Yaxley, is a manufacturer and supplier of flexible postal and mailing packaging whom agent, Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons) confirms has relocated to Peterborough from the outskirts of London to capitalise on the area’s advantageous commercial offering.
Bayard Packaging Ltd had its former premises in Croydon, on the southern outskirts of London. The relocation of its whole operation to Unit 5 at Peregrine Court sees the packaging company occupy 4,300 sq ft (400 sq m) of brand new industrial business space at half the price per square foot (psf) it was paying in the south east.
Peregrine Court is one of several courtyard-style commercial schemes forming the second phase of Eagle Business Park’s planned development. Barker Storey Matthews, as the sole agent, advises that over two thirds of the plots on this latest phase of the Yaxley development are either sold or reserved, with limited availability on the remaining plots.
Supplying clients with postal and courier packaging requirements, the festive season is one of Bayard Packaging’s busiest periods and managing director, Paul Fox, was determined to make the move to the new premises by autumn (2019).
He said, “Our former premises, near London, were no longer viable. Here, in Yaxley, we are taking advantage of Peterborough’s excellent road network and transport connectivity.
“With a current headcount of four staff, we have space at Peregrine Court to grow the business further and we plan a recruitment drive next year (2020).”
Richard Jones, Barker Storey Matthews, added, “Bayard Packaging is the latest in a long line of commercial occupiers to move in and begin trading from the brand new industrial and trade counter units at Eagle Business Park this year (2019).
“The development is becoming built out and the new year (2020) will see some of the final occupiers in residence and open for business, with the construction schedule of this phase of the whole development coming to an end.”
