Mountain Warehouse, a leading outdoor retailer with over 350 stores worldwide, has opened a store in Monmouth town centre. The company, which was set up by Mark Neale in 1997, has acquired the freehold interest of 38 Monnow Street.
The retailer, that opened 48 stores in 2018, continues to defy the perception that the high street is dead with a further 50 planned this year.
38 Monnow Street totalled 2,902 sq ft over ground and first floors and was sold with full vacant possession.
David Williams of Emanuel Jones who acquired the property commented:
“We’re delighted to have secured the freehold interest for Mountain Warehouse. The property is situated in a prime pitch along Monnow Street, perfect for a retailer such as Mountain Warehouse given their wide market appeal.”
“Despite the continued negative press surrounding the high street, it’s promising to see continued demand for units of this nature.”
