Above & Beyond, the official charity that raises funds for nine Bristol city centre hospitals, including South Bristol Community Hospital, is relocating its main office to Whitefriars, the landmark office building on Lewins Mead in the heart of Bristol city centre.
The charity, advised by Alder King, has acquired a 4,807 sq ft suite on the 6th floor and is now fitting out the accommodation before its 30-strong team moves in later this month. JLL and Hartnell Taylor Cook represented the landlord Topland in the transaction.
Tom Dugay, office associate at Alder King, said the choice of Whitefriars was a straightforward decision as the accommodation met all the charity’s key search criteria of location, size and layout.
“Remaining close to the BRI and the central hospital network was a fundamental requirement and of course Whitefriars is just a few minutes’ walk away. The suite is also larger than their current office and is open plan so provides more effective space than their current accommodation in the nearby Abbot’s House.”
The charity took a 10 year lease on the suite.
Paul Kearney, CEO of Above & Beyond, added: “The new office will provide our team with a much more productive and professional working environment from which to coordinate our fundraising plans, as we embark on an exciting new phase of growth and innovation. With the support of our Trustees, it was particularly important to find a location that provides a pleasant and effective working environment. Alder King provided excellent advice and evaluation support throughout the search and completion process.”
