Birmingham Properties Group is celebrating securing five new deals at a booming business park in the past three months, leaving just two units vacant.
Great Western Business Park in Winson Green comprises 26 industrial units. Six units, measuring between 1,000 and 2,000 sq ft, have recently been leased or sold to five small or medium sized enterprises (SMEs) looking for quality industrial/warehouse accommodation on flexible terms.
The development is situated off Handsworth New Road, allowing easy access to Birmingham city centre and the national motorway network.
Chris Keye, from GBR Phoenix Beard, said: “Local occupiers have been attracted to the business park. The units offer SMEs the option to lease 1000 – 2500 sq ft on flexible terms, or purchase good quality refurbished units that are in close proximity to Birmingham city centre.”
New tenants include: Tasty Pastry, Heat Loss Fighters, International Supermarket and Surface Finishing Engineering Limited.
Chinese restaurant chain Han Dynasty has also purchased three units totalling 6,450 sq ft.
John Tebbutt, managing director of Birmingham Properties Group, said: “These deals show there is strong demand for smaller business units.”
Birmingham Properties Group (BPG) acquired Great Western Business Park in December 2010 and carried out extensive refurbishment work over a six-month period.
When BPG purchased the site it was 40% let. However, following the recent successful lettings and sales, the business park is now nearly 90% occupied.
There are three units remaining at the business park, from 1,000 sq ft – 2,150 sq ft.
