The Birmingham office of property experts GVA has marked an outstanding year for its Building division, with a number of new appointments.
Balvinder Sagoo has been promoted to director, with Andy Rogers promoted to associate and James Hands appointed as senior surveyor.
This trio of promotions follows the best year to date for the Building team, with revenue generated topping the previous record-breaking year in 2007/08 by 4 per cent. This growth and prosperity is particularly impressive given the continued tough economic conditions and increased competition.
David Martin, senior director, Building, said: “I am very proud of this team, as we have remained profitable during what has been an extremely tough period, while maintaining an exceptionally high client retention rate. The last 12 months has been entirely unprecedented. These results are even more impressive when you consider that we are facing a greater level of competition from professionals who have set up on their own.
“Like many other companies, we were forced to downsize at the start of the recession, however I am exceptionally pleased to report that since then, we have expanded the team by five positions, due to the volume of work that we have seen coming our way.”
David, who took up his post at GVA at the height of the market and just prior to the economic downturn, heads up a team of 16, with a combined experience of over 200 years of property sector expertise.
Balvinder Sagoo, director, GVA, said: “The time is right and we are positioning ourselves for an upturn, while maintaining the high levels of service for the repeat client base. The levels of activity that we have seen are a strong indication of the trust and quality that is associated with GVA.”
GVA’s Building team is currently project managing Wragge’s fit out at Two Snowhill, and ABB’s campus redevelopment at Stone.
The team’s clients include RBS and Ministry of Justice for whom they advise on all aspects of their occupied estate. GVA Building is unique in that it has a dedicated banking support team, specialising in advising on corporate recovery and distressed developments.
