Booming bookmaker chain William Hill has opened its second betting office in Worcester, following consumer demand for another branch in the city centre.
William Hill has signed a 20-year lease for 28 The Cross, which was marketed by local agents Halls Commercial. The 1,969 sq ft, four-storey premises is in a busy shopping location, close to the pedestrianised section of Worcester High Street.
Rob Bradley-Richards, acquisition manager at William Hill, said: “After carrying out some market research we identified the demand for another betting office in Worcester.
“Betting for many is a leisure activity and regardless of economic downturn most customers are still keen to place their regular bets. Our first shop is on the other side of the city, so with our new premises we are now covering both ends of the high street.”
Charlotte Fullard, senior surveyor at Halls, said: “The Cross appealed to William Hill because of its busy retail location. There are a number of neighbouring retailers that will help to encourage footfall in addition to William Hill adding new jobs and footfall of its own to the local economy.’’
Halls Commercial provides specialist commercial property services to a wide range of clients throughout the Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and wider Midlands region.
