Building consultants at Harris Lamb have overseen the design and construction of new testing laboratories for floor care specialists Vax UK in Droitwich.
The business, which vacated its Colmore Square premises in Birmingham last year, instructed the team to design and project manage the build process of the new research and testing laboratory areas at its purpose-built distribution centre on Stonebridge Cross Business Park.
Marcus Andrew, of Harris Lamb’s Building Consultancy team, said: “Further to vacating the Birmingham building, Vax relocated all departments to Droitwich, and as part of that, new hi-tech testing labs and workshop areas were required.
“Having designed a number of suitable facilities at the site to meet the client’s requirements, we oversaw the construction project over a 12-week period, acting as contract administrators and ensuring that the works were completed within the allocated timescales.
“The overall project was completed efficiently to ensure there was no disruption to operations as a result of the relocation, and was value-engineered so that at £424,000, it also came in under the client’s stipulated budget,” he added.
Harris Lamb has worked closely with Vax for a number of years, having also secured the site for the new HQ in 2014 and acquiring a three-storey office building close to the site last year so that 130 staff based in Birmingham city centre could relocate.
