TWL Voice & Data has secured the telecommunications business of the Cardiff Blues following a competitive three way tender.
The three year contract sees the Cardiff-based company become an official supplier and partner of the regional side.
Under the new contract, TWL has installed a Toshiba CIX670 phone system with 30 extensions into the Blues’ new home at Cardiff Arms Park, replacing the existing system which was out-of-date and lacking features.
TWL has also provided cabling for the wifi network and commentary box and 40 new televisions for the hospitality boxes and lounges. TWL is also in discussions with the Blues to implement a call routing system into their ticket office.
As part of the agreement, TWL become a joint sponsor of the South stand of the Arms Park with office interior design company Office Image and gain a hospitality box at the grounds to entertain clients during home matches.
Managing director Andrew Nicholson said, “We’re delighted to be using our expertise to provide telecommunications solutions for the Blues at their new home in Cardiff Arms Park. It is great to be working with a top flight rugby side in what is promising to be an exciting season for the team and we were thrilled to have beaten off stiff competition to secure the work. The agreement also means that the TWL brand will have a strong presence at the Arms Park which will be beneficial as we drive forward with our business plans. We look forward to working with the Blues over the next three years.”
Richard Holland, Chief Executive of Cardiff Blues, said: “We have worked extremely hard to make sure that all our hospitality boxes and lounge areas have been fitted with superb flat screen TV’s that has no doubt improved the facilities at the Arms Park.
“We are delighted to have TWL on board as our official supplier and partner for the next three years. They have updated our telephone system which was a big task.
“It is going to be an exciting season for the Blues with the return to Cardiff Arms Park and having the support of companies such as TWL has been a real boost to us”
