UK-wide building and project consultancy Paragon has relocated its London office from Oxford Circus to take the entire fifth floor of the Harlequin Building, Southwark.
The consultancy has agreed an eight-year lease of 6,666 sq ft of open-plan Grade A office space. Following a six-figure investment and fit-out, which was project managed by Paragon associate director Helen Jones, the business’s 91 London-based employees have moved in.
The office on Southwark Street is a third larger than the Oxford Circus premises and allows Paragon to continue to implement its controlled nationwide expansion strategy which saw the consultancy open offices in both Edinburgh and Bristol last year.
The new London office was chosen based on insights from an employee survey conducted by Paragon earlier this year, specifically on the topics of office features and locations.
The responses helped shape the design of the Harlequin Building office to include flexible acoustically protected workspaces, touchdown banks and a variety of formal and informal meeting rooms. The accommodation also features larger break-out and kitchen spaces, showers, cycle spaces and lockers.
Commenting on the relocation, Paragon joint managing director, John Munday, said: “We enjoyed our eight-and-a-half years at Oxford Circus. However, as we continue to grow, we wanted to find a new location that provides an enhanced workplace for our people, clients and contacts to enjoy.
“It was great to involve everyone in the decision-making process regarding where to relocate, and what the office environment should look like. The result is a workspace which we are all very proud of, and one that we look forward to welcoming many people to for the first time.”
Founded in London ten years ago, Paragon is one of the UK’s largest independent building and project consultancies employing nearly 200 people across its five offices in London, Esher, Manchester, Edinburgh and Bristol. For the past two years, Paragon has been recognised by Property Week as one of the best places to work in property in the UK.
Paragon joint managing director, Robert Perry, added: “We have created a workplace distinct to our culture which enables even more interaction between our teams, with flexible working areas encouraging collaboration and generating a great atmosphere in the office.
“We have collectively created a place which benefits everyone and it is already contributing directly to enhancing the way we deliver excellent work for clients.”
Paragon is expert in all aspects of building surveying, project management, project monitoring, cost consultancy, M&E consultancy, environmental consultancy, occupier services, drone services, dispute resolution support, rights of light and party wall services.
