British sustainable outdoor clothing brand Finisterre is joining the exciting line up at Redevco’s Hanningtons Lane. Following on from the success of its most recently opened store in Bath, Finisterre has decided to venture into new waters again with a pop-up store in the coastal town of Brighton.
Finisterre is opening this Saturday (14 September) at 1 Hanningtons Lane, a 765 sq ft ground floor store with beautiful white wooden frontage, opposite The Olive Grove restaurant and next to the Hanningtons’ Alice in Wonderland mural.
It joins brands such as The Flint House and Brass Monkey in the newly created Lane, between North Street, East Street and Meeting House Lane. Other new retailers to Hanningtons Estate also include Watches of Switzerland, Hotel Chocolat, Habitat, Oliver Bonas and Humpit Hummus, with more new names expected to open before Christmas.
Finisterre aims to inspire a relationship with the sea and its products are built to enable it. Both Finisterre and the people of Brighton have an intrinsic love of water, a connection that could see the sea-inspired outdoor clothing store thrive in the town.
Finisterre founder Tom Kay has been looking forward to the opening of the new store: “We’re super excited to be opening a store in Brighton, it’s a buzzing place. People have been asking when this was going to happen for the longest time, and we’re delighted to be opening the doors to our Brighton store mid-September. Make yourselves at home and we look forward to meeting you all!” says Kay.
The store will play host to Finisterre’s latest autumn range, from fluorocarbon-free waterproofs and recycled insulated jackets, to fine woolen Merino base layers, and an ever-increasing range of wool knitwear, which sits at the very heart of the Finisterre range. It continues the brand’s commitment to creating the best product it can, with the least environmental impact possible.
Andrew Foulds, Portfolio Director at Redevco comments, “We really wanted to create something special at Hanningtons Lane and the line up of quality retailers, restaurants and artisan producers is really starting to come together. Every shop here is unique – both in terms of size and design – and we couldn’t have found a more fitting brand than Finisterre. Their ethical and exciting approach to clothing is perfect for Brighton and for Hanningtons Lane. We have also started work this week on another exciting new art wall, next to The Flint House, and can’t wait for it to take shape. ”
As ever, it’s the people and community who really bring Finisterre stores to life, so they invite you to come down and share a coffee or beer as you meet the new team this Saturday.
