Two Warwickshire cyclists have been given legal support as they aim to complete an epic 180 mile journey in just 24 hours.
Spencer Brown, founder of Peak Performance Centre of Excellence, based in Eastlands Court, Rugby, will be joined by fellow director Becky Walsh on a 24-hour pedal-powered journey from London’s Marble Arch to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
The duo, from Bilton, have been given a helping hand by Coventry-based solicitors Band Hatton which has donated £200 towards the pair’s target of £500 and to help finance some of the costs of the journey.
All funds raised will be donated to Cancer Research UK which was chosen by the pair due to the experience of having friends and family members affected by the disease.
Spencer, who is a former Royal Marine and has represented the England rugby union team at international level, said: “We decided to make it a bit more challenging than the popular three-day journey from London to Paris by doing it in 24 hours.
“Becky and I have spent a lot of time making sure we are in the right condition for the journey and we are looking forward to it.
“We chose Cancer Research UK because we have friends and family members who have been affected by cancer, so it is a cause close to our hearts.
“There are quite a few costs associated with the trip so we are delighted that Band Hatton has helped to cover those and ensure that we can raise as much money as possible for the charity.”
Dawn Mobbs, partner at Band Hatton, is also a member at Peak Performance, which specialises in strength and conditioning as well as injury rehabilitation.
