Providing global connectivity for over four decades as the world leader in mobile satellite communications is no easy task—yet, Inmarsat has continued to dominate the market with ease. In order to keep up with the company’s continued evolution, and to take advantage of new opportunities with the likes of Elon Musk, the powerhouse recently tapped global architecture, design, and planning firm HLW to complete the cosmic redesign of their twenty-year headquarters, located at 99 Old Street, Central London.
Seeking to better position itself within the aeronautical market, Inmarsat’s new workspace, aptly named ‘Project Odyssey,’ showcases a design concept inspired by elements from Earth’s different atmospheric regions. Inmarsat’s refreshed workspace spans across six floors, and features an open-floor plan outfitted to hold up to one thousand employees.
The result of this grand transformation, which took over sixty weeks and occurred in a series of phases in order to prevent the disruption of workflow and service, is an agile, flexible, and collaborative workspace that not only reflects Inmarsat’s culture and brand, but also increases employee productivity and happiness.
