Wren Kitchens has acquired 3.5 acres at Delta Properties’ newly released extension of Central Park, Bristol, at Severn Road in Avonmouth, for its new transport depot.
The deal marks the second sale in this new phase of Delta Properties’ developments in Bristol, following outstanding success in completing Central Park with occupiers including The Range, Amazon, DHL and Lidl.
The first phase of the Severn Road development, comprising just under 50 acres, benefits from the same extant planning consents which are in place at Central Park. The site has full planning consent already granted for open storage or new build warehouse and distribution, meaning no further planning permission is required prior to commencing development.
Wren has purchased a plot of almost 3.5 acres for a new transport depot.
Liam Knaggs, Property Manager at Wren Kitchens, said: “As Wren continues to significantly expand, we are strategically opening transport depots across the UK to ensure our delivery service continues to be economically efficient and first-class. By securing this land with Delta Properties, we envisage opening a new transport depot by 2020 which will result in offering several new jobs for the local community.”
Wren delivers over 2,000 kitchens a week to customers across the length and breadth of the UK. This recent investment is part of Wren’s wider growth plans to cater for increased business and to ultimately reduce fuel costs and emissions.
Wren currently has a fleet of over 180 lorries which travel from five depots located in Howden, Barton-upon-Humber, Bristol, Stansted and Larkhall.
Michael Shebson, of Delta Properties said: “We are delighted to welcome Wren as our latest occupier for this next phase of development. They join Dawsongroup Plc who are creating a Western Hub for their group companies.
“Our infrastructure programme including a new access road, is on schedule, to be completed later this year. Discussions with other potential occupiers continue, attracted by the location to the motorway network with the imminent opening of the new M49 junction, and the huge benefits the existing planning consent brings.”
Delta Properties announced the first deal at Severn Road with Dawsongroup Plc in July.
Avison Young and Knight Frank acted on behalf of Delta Properties.
Plots ranging from 2 – 10 acres are available for freehold purchase at Central Park, Severn Road.
