West Yorkshire-based property company and logistics specialist Onward Holdings has continued its investment in the region with the construction of a brand-new speculative warehouse in Featherstone by Junction 31 of the M62.
Phoenix 66 is a high-quality, institutionally-designed 66,812 sq ft distribution unit, with an additional 2nd floor office area spanning 3,104 sq ft. The unit benefits from a mix of dock and ground level loading doors, 13 metre eaves height and a secure, fully-concreted 43m deep service yard.
The completion of Phoenix 66 follows swiftly on the back of Onward’s successful refurbishment and letting of the 108,500 sq ft Normanton 108 unit to Leman Transport and the recent acquisition of the 68,500 sq ft Atlas Park building, both located within the Normanton Industrial Estate, near Wakefield.
Iain McPhail, partner and head of global property consultancy Knight Frank’s Leeds industrial team, commented: “There is a dearth of mid-sized new build warehouse stock in the region currently and the property provides an institutionally-designed and flexible opportunity for occupiers looking for quality space close to labour and motorways.”
Neil Storey, Sales Director of Onward Holdings, commented: “Phoenix 66 incorporates Solar PV panels which generate 50KVA and we have also added an electric charging point which makes it the most sustainable warehouse we have developed.”
Andrew Miller of Andrew Miller Chartered Surveyors, Sheffield, added: “This is an excellent high-bay warehouse unit which has a 13m eaves height and office accommodation that can easily be expanded to provide more office space or welfare facilities.”
