A leading trade joinery supplier has secured the last vacant unit at a popular Dudley industrial park, as part of its continued expansion plans.
Howdens Joinery, which supplies a wide range of kitchen, bathroom cabinet and joinery products to the trade, has signed a 10-year lease for Unit 6 of Ionic Park, Birmingham New Road, Dudley.
Ionic Park, a £5 million development by developer Ashfield Land, comprises eight industrial units of varying sizes ranging from 3,583 sq ft to 11,227 sq ft. The units are built to a high specification and each benefit from a generous yard/loading area as well as car parking. They have proved to be popular with trade operators thanks to its prominent roadside position.
Mark Churchill, head of property at Howdens Joinery, said: “We have been looking for the right premises in Dudley for some time and we are very pleased to be getting representation in the town itself as part of Howdens’ continued expansion programme.”
Nick Jones, director at Ashfield Land’s Birmingham office, said: “We are pleased to welcome Howdens to Ionic Park where it will join other high profile businesses such as Storage King, Magnet Trade, City Electrical Factors (CEF), and Screwfix on the site.”
The quality of the 57,000 sq ft scheme and its prominent location has seen record levels being achieved in terms of sales and rental figures for the Black Country. Sales in excess of £75.00 per sq ft were achieved while lettings broke through £6.00 per sq ft for the first time.
Montagu Evans acted on behalf of Howdens Joinery for the letting.
