Leading property consultant CBRE has announced two appointments to expand and strengthen its Engineering Services team – part of the firm’s National Building Consultancy.
Gordon Black has been appointed Associate Director and Ross Henderson as a Senior Engineer. Both are now based in CBRE’s Glasgow office, working with the rest of the Engineering Services team which services the Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Belfast offices of CBRE.
Gordon, a mechanical engineer who took up his new post on 1st August, has joined CBRE from Clancy Consulting where he was an Associate, working across the residential, commercial and light industrial property sectors. Before that he worked at CH2M and Peter Brett Associates, during which time he led the design of mechanical building services across a range of projects, and Jersey-based Hartigan where he was Technical Director.
A Registered Chartered Engineer and member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Gordon is a graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University, having gained both an MSc and a BEng Hons in Building Services Engineering.
Gordon commented: “I’m delighted to have joined CBRE’s Engineering Services team, especially as its expansion means that it is opening up many more new opportunities in the marketplace. CBRE has a superb reputation in Scotland and across the UK, and the chance to be part of the world’s largest real estate advisory firm made joining its National Building Consultancy extremely attractive.”
Ross Henderson joined CBRE on 15th August from Glasgow-based Henderson Warnock Consultant Engineers where he worked for just over nine years, latterly as Senior Electrical Engineer. During his time with the firm he worked across electrical design, lighting and power design, surveys and conditional report writing, specialising in a range of programs such as Autocad, Relux, Amtech and more recently Revit. Prior to that he was with EM McKenzie and HC Electrical. Ross served his electrical apprenticeship with the latter, working on the installation and testing of large scale commercial and industrial projects.
Ross said: “My new role with CBRE is a fantastic opportunity for me – I am very ambitious and that’s why I’m excited to have joined the very best in the business. It will be a privilege to represent such a respected company and work with its Engineering Services team. I’m looking forward to contributing to it to help it reach its goals and to working with its clients.”
Alan Maxwell, CBRE National Building Consultancy Director, said: “Gordon and Ross are exciting talents who have already proved themselves capable of delivering impressive results. Their exceptional respective skills in mechanical and electrical engineering will be a great asset, assisting us to ensure we provide our clients, both externally and internally, with world-class M&E engineering solutions.
“As a team, we are committed to delivering engineering excellence using outstanding technical expertise, and the expansion of our Engineering Services team with these two hires will not only help us to continue to deliver this but will also enable us to achieve our objectives of expanding our team and market share even further.”
