Staff at Mansell’s Stourbridge-based Western Region are celebrating after getting the top award which recognises the way the company treats, manages and develops its people.
Mansell has achieved the coveted Investors in People Gold status following a rigorous and searching assessment by an Investors in People specialist, involving interviews with a large cross section of Mansell staff.
The award recognises Mansell’s training programmes, people development and employee recognition. Mansell is now in the top two per cent of employers in the UK who have achieved the IIP Gold standard.
Terry Jones, the Investors in People specialist said, “There is a strong and proactive strategy for equality and diversity that encompasses clients, the community, partners and employees, supported by a robust and consistent e-learning system that has been successful in raising awareness and application of core concepts that are embedded in the company’s vision and values. This contributes to a high level of engagement with all facets of society and serves to facilitate the company’s success in meeting its commercial objectives.”
Regional managing director Steve Davies said the firm was delighted with the achievement and took people development very seriously.
“We see Investors in People as key to facilitating the transformation of our business over recent years and it is a major part of our investment in our future. Training and development and allowing people to reach their full potential are ingrained into the Mansell culture. 165 evidence points are required to achieve the Gold standard and I’m pleased to say that Mansell provided 178 points – well exceeding the target,” he said.
