Retail units at a proposed new local shopping centre at Old Sarum are now being marketed in advance of construction work beginning.
Three units at the five-unit Sarum Point local centre development have already been reserved off-plan.
The remaining two are now being marketed by property consultancy Myddelton & Major ready for the project’s completion in spring 2020.
Units 2 and 4 are each 1,000 sq ft (92.90 sq m) and the quoting rent for each is £19,000 per annum on 15-year lease terms.
The Sarum Point development, currently subject to planning consent, will be visible from the adjoining A345 with access via the new roundabout junction linking to the development.
Myddelton & Major Partner Simon Lee said: “The development occupies a prominent trading position adjoining new 673 unit housing development, currently under construction and almost immediately adjacent to a proposed new 66-bedroom care home building.
“I am expecting strong demand as this local centre development will be serving a large new population. Given that two units are already subject to contract off-plan, I can see this shopping centre being fully occupied before completion
The local centre is to include a retail convenience store – the 3,500 sq ft (325.15 sq m) Unit 1 is pre-let to leading neighbourhood retailer McColl’s – together with the three separate retail units and a 36-space adjoining customer car parking area.
There will an adjoining children’s day nursery in the 5,100 sq ft (473.79 sq m) Unit 5, which is pre-let to Happy Days and expected to generate further customer flow.
The units will be provided in developer’s shell specifications with capped utility supplies and aluminium glazed shop fronts fitted and Class A1-A5 & D1 planning use.
The development is located on the A345 approximately four miles north of Salisbury and five miles south of Amesbury. Access to the main A303 London to West Country trunk road is approximately six miles to the north.
