The Lincolnshire business community have been coming to terms with the death of Stephen Bradford, who was a partner at Hodgson Elkington LLP, the Lincoln based Chartered Surveyors.
He passed away on Saturday 25th August aged 49 and had been associated with Hodgson Elkington as a partner since 1998 having re-joined the firm in 1993.
Stephen along with his business partners, Sam Elkington, Dan Race and Tim Shaw had continued to build the business over recent years following its founding in 1990, and together they have created one of the region’s leading professional surveying practices.
“He was an extremely well respected property professional and was held in the highest regard by all who knew him. As a devoted family man he was able to match his business career with his family life and very successful sporting career. It has left a big hole for us,” said Sam Elkington, senior partner. “I have worked with Stephen for over 30 years from when he started as a trainee and he will be greatly missed”.
A keen cricketer Stephen played over 100 times for Lincolnshire in the Minor Counties as well as for Sleaford. He helped set up Hodgson Elkington’s award winning charity the Junior Sports Programme which this year celebrated 10 years of working with local schools and clubs to encourage young people in sporting activities.
Mr Bradford leaves a wife Lesley, son James and daughter Katharine.
The funeral is to be held on Friday 7th September 2012 at All Saints Church, Coleby at 2.00pm. The family have advised that all business colleagues, associates and friends are welcome. A private family burial is to be held after the Service.
