The £40 million world-class Manufacturing Technology Centre near Coventry has appointed Lichfield-based Ian Strachan Communications Ltd to handle its press relations.
The MTC, based on Ansty Park, Coventry, opened last year following a £40.5 million cash injection from the West and East Midlands development agencies. It is a partnership between some of the UK’s major global manufacturers including Airbus, Rolls Royce and Aero Engine Controls, and three universities: Birmingham, Nottingham and Loughborough as well as TWI Ltd, the operating division of The Welding Institute. .
Operations director Leigh Carnes said the MTC was well into its stride following a year of operations.
“There are some really exciting cutting-edge projects going on in the centre which has more than £20 million of production scale technology available to our partners and engineers. We are now keen to gain recognition for our capabilities and achievements, and our ambitious plans for the future,” she said.
“We chose Ian Strachan Communications because of its obvious expertise and contacts and its no-nonsense approach to PR. We have a great team here at the MTC and we believe Ian Strachan Communications will help us achieve the recognition our work and facilities deserve,” she added.
Ian Strachan Communications Ltd was set up 12 years ago by Ian Strachan, formerly corporate affairs director at Birmingham commercial vehicle manufacturer LDV and corporate communications director at Rover Group.
