Goadsby’s commercial property office in Southampton has seen a large increase in landlords and tenants seeking professional advice for re-negotiating their lease terms.
Liam Small, Goadsby’s dedicated lease consultancy surveyor comments, “Both landlords and tenants are approaching us for help with their re-gears. It is often the case that their rent and other terms were agreed prior to the recession in 2008 and have become out of sync with the market. For the tenants this commonly represents an opportunity to reduce their rent liability, whilst landlords can benefit from the tenant committing to a longer lease duration.”
