Wheelchairs specialist AJM Healthcare has dealt with more than 500 new referrals over the past quarter, since starting to deliver a new contract – which led it to open a new centre in Lincoln.
And its Centre Manager Lisa Wishart added that the company also remains committed to providing a top-class service to “existing” clients who were served under an earlier contract. Altogether, it means that the centre currently has about 1,200 active clients.
Lincoln-based chartered surveyor Banks Long & Co leased a smart new unit on the growing Lincolnfields site to the business, enabling it to launch its 10th UK Service Centre.
AJM Business Development and Customer Relations Director Guy Eatherington said: “We are delighted with our move and pleased to report that, as a company, AJM has doubled in size over the past nine months.
“With over 30 years’ experience or providing wheelchair and mobility services to the NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups and local authority partners, we have the experience to deliver services and solutions cost-effectively and efficiently.”
Centre Manager Lisa Wishart said: “We cover the whole of Lincolnshire area, bordering the neighbouring counties of Cambridgeshire, Nottinghamshire and Norfolk.
“We employ occupational therapists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation engineers, and contract-in specialist seating therapists, and we welcome people to our new clinic and wheelchair centre to be measured and provided with their new wheelchair.
“In addition, we are equipped to provide on-site services to special schools, care homes, hospitals and to people in their own homes.
“We carry out bespoke assessments in order to ensure that clients get a product that is ideal for their individual circumstances.”
In addition to providing wheelchairs fully funded by the Lincolnshire Care Commission Group, AJM also helps people with a personal wheelchair budget to select the right solution for their needs.
The Lincoln centre also offers a 365-days-a-year repairs service and responds to call-outs within 24 hours.
Banks Long & Co Director William Wall said: “We were pleased to hear that AJM had won the wheelchair contract and delighted to have leased them the Teal Park warehouse. We wish the business well for the future.”
