Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) has let 9,139 sq ft on the ground floor of 2 City Place, Gatwick, to Shearwater GeoServices Limited.
The geophysical survey business has taken a 10-year lease with a tenant-only break option at the end of the fifth year, at a rental of £24.25 per sq ft.
Shearwater GeoServices Limited, headquartered in Bergen, Norway, operates internationally and has been looking for a second UK location for its expanding business.
Located adjacent to Gatwick Airport’s southern perimeter, occupiers at the 85,000 sq ft office headquarters building also include Lloyds TSB and accountants, BDO.
Will Foster, Partner at Knight Frank LLP, who advised RLAM on the deal, comments: “This important letting highlights the strength of City Place as an attractive location, directly adjacent to Gatwick Airport and 30-minutes from central London by train. Forming part of the highest quality cluster of buildings in the region, 2 City Place provides occupiers with quality, prominence and prestige. We have 12,000 sq ft remaining to let and are seeing strong interest.”
Mick Richardson, Shearwater GeoServices, said: “We are delighted to have found a modern, environmentally friendly office for our growing business. It was important for us to be in high quality office space, both in an easy location for our people to travel to, and close to Gatwick Airport for international travel to support our marine survey business.”
RLAM is advised at 2 City Place by Knight Frank LLP and Altus Group.
