A substantial, high-specification floor of refurbished offices in Leicester has been let to one of Britain’s major public services providers, Serco Group Plc. The lease was agreed last month between Serco and commercial property experts Mather Jamie, who have sub-let part of the premises on behalf of leaseholder TBA Leicester Ltd.
Lancer House on Scudamore Road is a Grade A refurbished office building located within three miles of both Leicester city centre and two junctions of the M1. It boasts exceptional access to the A47 connecting Leicester and Hinckley, as well as the Leicester ring road.
Mather Jamie succeeded in acquiring the eight-year Lancer House building lease for TBA Leicester, one of Europe’s leading software development and integration companies for the logistics industry, in early 2018.
Serco has taken the extensive 5,327ft² of the second floor of Lancer House, which benefits from inset LED lighting, climate control, lift access, private WC facilities and access to a shared kitchen break area. The premises will become the Head Office for Serco Leisure, which manages over 100 leisure facilities nationwide, when the team moves from its current location at Meridian Business Park on 15th July.
Serco Group is a globally-operating FTSE 250 company that has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1988. In the UK, it works to ensure transparency, security and behavioural standards across transport, defence, health, justice & immigration and citizen services.
James Adderley, Property Services Manager at Serco’s Central Property Group, says: “The Serco Leisure team was on the lookout for new Head Office premises in Leicester with several prerequisites: capacity for several meeting rooms and up to 70 desks, temperature control and ample parking facilities. Currently, the team is divided between three floors across two buildings, where facilities and space are not at the required level.
“Lancer House met all of our requirements, and the team and I are confident that the new location on Scudamore Road will bring many benefits, including more efficient communication and teamwork. We have also been able to fit out the new premises to Serco’s company-wide standards, which in turn will contribute to a more cohesive working environment.
“We have found Mather Jamie very helpful and extremely professional throughout, from our initial contact with various local agents to the sub-let being arranged.”
Alex Reid, Director at Mather Jamie, concludes: “Having first secured the lease on this impressively renovated property for TBA Leicester last year, we are delighted to confirm that Lancer House’s second floor will now be put to good use by public services giant Serco.
“With its convenient location, considerable parking capacity and high-specification renovation, I have no doubt that Lancer House will fulfil all of Serco’s requirements as an office space.”
