Uniqlo is joining the flourishing retail and leisure mix at intu Watford’s extension as part of its UK expansion strategy.
It will be the latest retailer to open there following intu’s £180 million investment to extend the town centre shopping destination by 400,000 sq ft and attract a range of big brands, boosting Watford to a top-20 UK retail location in property consultancy CACI’s national rankings.
Uniqlo’s two-story intu Watford store will be its fourth store outside of London as one of the world biggest retailers continues to select the best destinations for its expansion across the UK.
A number of others stores, restaurants and leisure operators have taken space at intu Watford’s extension since its launch last year, including Hugo Boss, Zara, H&M and Hollister.
Rebecca Ryman, regional managing director at intu, said: “Our investment in Watford has been focused on building the best mix of brands for Watford’s wide and affluent catchment population.
“intu Watford is now home to some of the biggest and most popular retailers in the world, including H&M, Zara and Uniqlo, and an excellent line-up of restaurants and leisure operators, creating a thriving day and night out destination for the centre’s rapidly growing footfall.”
