M&G Real Estate and intu have appointed Time Retail Partners and Metis as joint agents for Manchester Arndale, one of the UK’s largest city centre shopping malls.
Manchester Arndale welcomes over 40 million visitors a year and boasts an impressive line-up of more than 200 shops and restaurants, including national, international and local brands.
Scott Linard, director, asset management at M&G Real Estate comments on behalf of the joint owners: “The appointment of Time Retail Partners and Metis takes Manchester Arndale into an exciting new phase and we are confident that their robust and extensive network of contacts, as well as their wealth of experience and expertise in the market, will be extremely valuable.
The centre is one of the main retail destinations in the North and we look forward to working with the new joint agents as they capitalise on the regional and international exposure Manchester Arndale offers.”
Manchester Arndale recently announced a series of new lettings and lease extensions that further establishes the centre as one of the North’s leading fashion hubs.
In April, Uniqlo opened its flagship store for the North at Manchester Arndale. The store, which is only Uniqlo’s third in the UK outside London, occupies a completely redesigned 21,000 sq ft unit on Market Street. AllSaints also committed to a new ten-year lease on a new unit in the centre, following several years of strong trading on Market Street.
This comes alongside the addition of Metro Bank and home and body cosmetics brand Rituals to Manchester Arndale’s line-up in recent weeks. The centre’s food and beverage offering has also been boosted by the arrival of popular burger and shake restaurant Archies to the Halle Place food court.
Matt Cassell, director at Time Retail Partners, which will represent the centre alongside incumbent agent Metis, said: “We are very proud to be associated with such a fantastic asset and are excited to work with the centre’s highly experienced team.
“Manchester Arndale is a major draw for shoppers and retailers across the North and we look forward to helping the centre add to its already strong tenant line up, which includes major brands such as Apple, Victoria’s Secret, Burberry, Hugo Boss and Rituals, plus many more household names.”
