Office take up in quarter two, 2019 in the central Birmingham office market totalled 320,595 sq ft in 30 deals.
When added to the 25 deals totalling 193,984 sq ft recorded in quarter one, the half year to date totals 514,579 sq ft in 55 deals.
This demonstrates a very strong first half of the year, greatly assisted by a handful of larger lettings, not least to the flexible and co-working provider sector. The H1 take up is the best recorded in the same period since 2015 when HSBC committed to their new HQ and is up on the 2018 (318,412 sq ft), 2017 (248,466 sq ft) and 2016 (500,992 sq ft) figures.
