With stock levels throughout the East Midlands for warehouse and production space still low, good quality buildings continue to be snapped up quickly as demand continues for distribution space in the region.
Tim Gilbertson, Director at FHP Property Consultants, has just concluded a further warehouse letting in Worksop of over 70,000ft² in what is often regarded as the “less fashionable” A1 corridor, but where success has been achieved in recent times due to the availability of good quality space and alternative options unlike the more traditionally favoured M1 corridor.
Tim Gilbertson commented:
“This is the second large warehouse I have let on the A1 this year. After disposing of over 65,000ft² at Tuxford in Spring of this year, which was a high bay warehouse, I have now let similar, but more modern space at Worksop amounting to over 70,000ft².
The A1 is not as well regarded by many as the M1 corridor for space but with stock levels low, the location has performed well recently, and it is great to see this further deal completed.
Our aim now is to secure more space to bring to the market as despite these testing times, the property market locally and indeed the economy in general still seems to have strength within it, as testified by ongoing requirements we receive and the inability for current market supply in all sectors, sizes and locations of the industrial and distribution market to meet demand.
Enquiries are still coming in with frequency and in good numbers for space from as little as a few thousand square feet up to 100,000ft² and beyond. For any potential clients out there, I would be delighted to chat through the market and give them a positive response if they are looking to sell or let their building in a time when positive messages need to be given to convey the strength of the economy, regardless of the activities of our so-called leaders in Westminster!”
