Property consultancy JLL has been appointed to market the new phase of development at the popular Edginswell Business Park in Torquay.
Following the success of the original site, the remaining six acres of Edginswell was purchased by Torbay Council in late 2018. Acting as developer, the authority can now provide leasehold buildings for a variety of uses.
JLL will market the greenfield development site to secure interest from potential occupiers including businesses locally and nationally.
The site benefits from an extant planning consent for an A1 bulky goods retail use in one area and other potential uses include trade counter, leisure, industrial, offices, roadside, self-storage and distribution, all of which could be accommodated on the site.
Tim Western, lead director in JLL’s Exeter office commented:
“The property is located strategically at the end of the new A380 South Devon Highway, which has reduced significantly travel times locally and regionally. This is the next phase of development of the successful business park, which has previously attracted Francis Clark, Kitsons, South Devon Healthcare and Eden Vauxhall.
Liam Montgomery, director of asset management, investment and housing for the Torbay Development Agency added:
“The site forms part of Torquay Gateway and provides a rare and excellent opportunity for businesses looking for a prominent and visible location with excellent road links to the surrounding area. We are very excited about being able to bring forward this strategically important site.”
Tim Western confirmed: “The Council, as landowner and developer will provide leasehold design and build packages to meet occupiers’ specific requirements. The site is serviced and ready for development.”
