A Staffordshire creative firm is celebrating after winning a contract to bring some Hollywood glamour to the Black Country.
Rugeley-based GMP Design has clinched a contract to revamp the former Que Pasa site in Stourbridge on behalf of Atmosphere Bars and Clubs.
The new bar and club venue – to be renamed Chicago’s – is to get a major makeover, using Hollywood glamour as its theme. The refit contract is worth nearly a quarter of a million pounds.
GMP’s re-design involves transforming the 450-capacity bar with fibre-optic lighting, an LED light ceiling over the dance floor and new bar and seating booths.
Lead designer Darren Aspinall said, “We plan to make the bar extremely female friendly with soft and sophisticated designs and concepts. It will be a great experience and certainly something different for the area.”
This is one of several contracts which GMP has carried out for Atmosphere Bars and Clubs, which is one of the UK’s fastest growing leisure companies. It was set up in 2010 and already runs 25 venues throughout England and Wales.
GMP Design, based on the Towers Business Park, was established by Rugeley businessman Neil Morten 20 years ago. The firm has become one of the UK’s leading bar, restaurant and club interior design companies, with major contracts throughout the UK, Europe and the Far East.
The company has worked on numerous concepts and venues around the world including the international rollout of the world famous Ministry of Sound nightclubs, with venues in Bangkok, Singapore, Egypt, London and Taiwan.
