Barker Storey Matthews, now part of Eddisons, has once again – for the eighth year in a row – been identified as the most active agent in Cambridgeshire by commercial property research specialists, EGi.
The annual competition is open to all commercial agents, including national firms, who complete deals in Cambridgeshire. The accolade of ‘Most Active Agent’ is judged on the volume of completed deals – both sales and lettings – across a diverse range of commercial property sub-sectors including industrial, office, retail, investment and leisure.
The agent’s strong presence in Cambridgeshire is served by local offices in Huntingdon, Cambridge and Peterborough.
In the national version of the competition, announced earlier this year (March), Barker Storey Matthews was awarded the accolade of the most active agent in the East of England for the sixth consecutive year, securing the top slot for its deals in the office, industrial, retail and investment sectors.
Richard Adam, Director and Head of Agency in the Huntingdon office, was cited in the Cambridgeshire competition as ‘Dealmaker’. In commenting about the firm’s activity in the county, he said, “The underlying commercial property market remains strong, despite some national uncertainty, with a continued shortage of supply, particularly for industrial buildings.
“The forthcoming completion of the A14 upgrade in December 2020 is having a positive effect, with buyers and tenants anticipating what will be a major infrastructure improvement that will underline Huntingdon’s location as a junction of the A14, A1 and the East Coast mainline.”
